Bacon Barbeque Cheeseburger

While the Cheeseburger was fabulous the blackberry bourbon sauce was icing on the burger so to speak. Figured I would share that recipe for those who may interested in making similar sauce for their barbeque needs.

Black Berry Bourbon BBQ Sauce

1 cup of fresh blackberries
3/4 cup bourbon – used American Barrel Bourbon for this batch
1 tbs of olive oil
1/2 cup white onion finely minced
1 glove of garlic finely minced
1-1/2 cups of Ketchup
2 tbs of tomatoe paste
2 tbs balasamic vinegar
2 tbs of molasses
1 tbs of worchester
Few dashes of hot sauce

Start with tbs of Olive oil heated in small sauce pan added minced onion and garlic until they reduce then add the blackberries, bourbon and allow that to reduce and then begin to gently add remaining ingredients and mix with hand blender to get smooth. Finally allow to cool before put into container for future use.
